| The funeral service for William “Bill” Edward George, age 82, will be held, Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 2:30 pm at the Calvary Baptist Church. Rev Steve Williams will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family would like all Lions Club members attending the service to wear their vests. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Bill was born May 11, 1926 near Gage in Ellis County to William Andrew and Iva Elizabeth (Gracey) George and died September 2, 2008 in Enid. He graduated from Gage High School in 1947 and Oklahoma Barber College in 1952. He served in the Navy during WW II from 1944 to 1946 and was in the Army Reserves for three years. He worked at George’s Barber Shop in Gage for five years, Legrant’s Barber Shop in Enid for two years, and George’s Barber Shop in Enid for 29 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 51 years, the American Legion for 60 years, and the Pioneer-Pleasantvale Lions Club for 32 years. He married Opal Faye Irwin, June 2, 1952. He is survived by his wife, Opal of the home, his children: Geneva Osburn and husband Jim, Eldon George and wife Shirley, Gilbert George and wife Debbie all of Enid, Gerald George and wife Birdie, of Grand Prairie, TX, six grandchildren, Garrett, Phillip, Logan, Tiffany, Jeffrey, Madisyn, and Samantha, and one great grandchild, Brandon. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds.
