00a.m. Tuesday in the High School Gymnasium of Ringwood.  Rev. Rich
Redinger and Shorty Unruh will officiate.  Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill
Cemetery of Meno.  Arrangements are with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.   
He was born January 4, 1931 in Nash to Charles and Lura Griffith McCormick
and died noon on Friday, December 26, 2008 at his home in Ringwood.  A few
hours after the death of his oldest brother George.
Harley grew up in Nash, graduating from High School in 1949.  A couple of
years after graduation, He and his best friend Monte Hendrick joined the United
States Army in March of 1951 to see the world.  They ended up separated from
each other and Harley was stationed in Nierenberg, Germany.   He was then
sent to South Korea during the war to serve as a medic.  After his discharge in
1954, Harley attended the Wichita Technical College of Wichita, KS, were he
received a certification as an air craft radio installation technician.  He started
work with Beech Air Craft.  
On March 8, 1958, he married Naoma Steen in Caldwell, KS.  After a large lay-
off with the plant that same year, he and Naoma moved to Wakita Oklahoma
and he went to work for Thornhill-Gibson Oil Company until 1964 when Harley
moved to Ringwood and owned and operated the McCormick 66 station.  They
operated that station until he retired in 1996.  Later he worked for the Ringwood
School System in Maintenance until ill health forced him to leave in 2008.  
He is survived by his wife Naoma McCormick of the home, four children, Randy
McCormick and his wife Terri of Canadian, TX, Kim Childs of Meno, Darla
Adkisson and her husband Mark of Ringwood, and Tammy Van Meter and her
husband, Mark of Fairview.  He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and a
brother, Ossie McCormick and his twin sister, Hazel of Wichita, KS.  Harley was
preceded in death by six sisters and four brothers and a grandson.
Memorials can be made through the funeral home to Fairview Home Health,
Hospice Circle of Love and to the donor’s choice.
