| Funeral services for William J. Mygrant (Wild Bill or Bill) to his friends and family will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Don Tines with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Bill is a longtime native resident of Enid, born March 31, 1945 to Cadet William L. Mygrant and Bertha Mason. He was called home by his Heavenly Father receiving last rights at 9:26 p.m. June 26, 2009 after a long illness of prostate cancer. Bill was a graduate of Enid High class of 1963. He played on the football team for 3 years. He enjoyed hunting, shooting and fishing as a young man. Bill entered college at the University of Oklahoma then enlisting in the U. S. Air Force serving in Italy, Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines and serving in Vietnam. He returned home in 1972, where he resumed his studies at both O. S. U. and O. U. graduating in 1975. Bill was a resident doctor and certified dynamite blaster for Billy bob mines in Nevada and California until 1980. He returned to his home town of Enid to work in the oil fields. He was also an avid collector of guns and old and new bibles. As part of his 27 years as a recovery alcoholic participate in the helping of other alcoholics and drug addicts in their recovery. He is survived by his mother Bertha Mygrant of Enid, an aunt Thelma Harmon of Honolulu, HI, a sister Shirley and her husband Claude Powell of Waukomis, a son Jason Mason Mygrant, a daughter Lindsay Mygrant of Lake Havasu, CA, a niece Kristi and her husband Conte Matal and their son Tyler, nephew Claude Powell Jr. and wife Sharon and their two sons Lucus and Mitchell Powell and nieces serving as his caregiver for many years Terrylynn Salinas and Kerilynn Steen. He was preceded in death by his father William L. Mygrant and Grandfather James A. Mason both of Enid. |
