| July 2, 2009 at his home in Dallas, TX. He was 87 years old. He was born on March 10, 1922 in August, KS to Lydia Leola Kelly-Roush. In November 1942, he was drafted into the US Army and served with the 419th 10th Armored Field Artillery Division, Third Army in World War II. On a furlough, he married Helen Marie Clover on September 23, 1943. When the war was over, they moved back to Enid and made their home. In October 1945, he began his career as a knock engine mechanic at Champlin Oil Company refinery. He retired after 38 years in December 1982. He was an avid collector of ball point pens and had accumulated thousands. He loved to travel around the United States and attend World War II Army reunions and other family events. He loved to hold babies and would do so for hours. He is survived by his wife, Helen of the home, one brother, Robert Roush of Wichita, KS; two daughters, Lydia Kiefer and husband, Jerald of Garland, TX and Cindy Stephens and husband, Wayne of Blackwell, OK; four grandchildren: Kurt Kiefer, Kelly McCormac, Karla Culver and Christi Stephens; six great grandchildren: Preston and Brandon McCormac, Blake, Frankie and Bryce Culver and Jessica Myers; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandmother. Graveside services will be held, Friday, July 10, 2009 at 10:00 am at the Memorial Park Cemetery. Marvin D. Palmer will officiate. There will be a time visitation with the family from 6-9 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
