A graveside service for Beverly B. Stebens, age 77 of Enid will be 11:00 am,
Friday, January 9, 2009 in the garden chapel of Memorial Park Cemetery.  Bob
Marple will officiate.  Arrangements are with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

She was born December 24, 1931 in Ft. Smith, AR to Fred Stephen and Dorothy
Ann Moon Homan and died early Friday morning, January 2, 2009 at Integris
Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City.

At an early age, Beverly’s parents separated and Dorothy then married Fred
McCoy.  He legally adopted Beverly when she was in Kindergarten at the age of 4
in Beaumont, TX.  Her family then traveled where she attended schools in
Denison, TX, Garber, OK and finished in Hutchinson, KS, where she graduated
in 1949 at the age of 17.  In the spring of 1949, they moved to Enid where she
attended Phillips University and was a top-performing student earning a degree
in Mathematics and Physics in 1954 under the tutelage of Dr. Mason, a
renowned mathematician who lived in Enid.

Beverly met Duane Stebens of Loyal, OK.  Partially due to the pranks of her
brothers, they became friends and started dating and later marrying in 1954.  He
preceded her in death on October 9, 2002.

Moving to Ponca City, she joined Conoco as a beginning research scientist.
Later became a specialist for computer geophysical programming.  She jointly
held patents between Conoco and herself for the initial invention of “Size Cut”
computer interpretation of geophysical data.  She retired after 35 years of faithful
service.
She was a dedicated member of the Ponca City Country Club, attending many
activities that were hosted there.  She was also devoted to her family and friends
as well as her two terriers, Foxie and Tiger.  Beverly had a keen wit and warm
heart that she shared with all she met.

Beverly is survived by her son, Kurt D. Stebens of Douglas, OK, two brothers, Bob
F. McCoy of Tulsa and D. Patrick McCoy of Oklahoma City; the brothers’ families:
two nieces, a nephew, one great nephew and a great niece, a sister-in-law,
Wahnita Stebens of Loyal and her four children.  She was cherished by her family
and friends and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Duane Stebens. PhD. and a
brother, Mike, at an early age.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Beverly’s favorite
organization, A.S.P.C.A., with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the
funds.  Condolences can be made to the family at
