| The funeral service for Jack D Unruh, age 73, will be held Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 11:00am at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Robert Price and Jim Edmison will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. He was born July 18, 1936 in Ringwood, OK to Fred and Lina (Major) Unruh and died July 27, 2009 at St Mary’s Regional Medical Center. Jack attended Ringwood schools. Later his family moved to Enid where he attended school there. He had one sister, stillborn, four older brothers, Loren, Harold, Loel and Lyle, and Jack being the youngest. He married Barbara Limerick in which this union had a daughter, Patty (Unruh) Price. He married Joyce Dusbabek and from this union two sons, Rex and Steve were born. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Jack was very active with hobbies in his youth. He loved to rodeo, race stock cars, gallop and ride thoroughbred race horses. Unfortunately in 1967 Jack had a devastating accident on a horse in which he became paralyzed. He endured and rose up and met the challenge. He never quit “going.” He lived each moment. Jack loved to make you laugh and was always making jokes. He was dearly admired and loved by all that knew him. His smile was worth a million bucks but Jack chose to be a simple man. He believed in his family and deeply loved his children and he was very proud of his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, his parents, Lina and Fred Unruh, brothers Loren, Loel, and Lyle; son-in-law, Larry Price; and nephew Gary Unruh. He is survived by one brother, Harold Unruh of Dalhart, TX, three children: Patricia Price of Yukon, OK, Rex Unruh of Whitney, TX and Steve Unruh of Enid, OK; six grandchildren: Jeremy Unruh of Oklahoma City, OK, Robby Price of Yukon, OK, Jessica and Ryan Unruh of Mansfield, TX and Tyler and Shelby Unruh of Enid, OK; and eight nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the charity or organization of your choice. Condolences may be emailed to the family at ladusauevans@suddenlinkmail.com. |
