Graveside services for Doris A. Wing age 84 of Enid formerly of Tulsa will be 3:30 pm Thursday at Floral Haven Cemetery, Broken Arrow, OK with Rev. Eric Keller officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Doris was born December 18, 1929 in Kansas City, MO to Ralph L. and Jesse C. Worley Ramsey and passed away Saturday April 5, 2014 in the Greenbrier Nursing Home. She was raised in Kansas City where she attended school and graduated in 1947.
She married Robert Wing on August 22, 1950 in Kansas City, MO. They were happily married for 53 years until he passed away October 9, 2003.
Doris worked as a school secretary in several cities and later became a real estate agent in Tulsa. She volunteered and was an advocate for individuals with special needs. She loved to travel and visited 49 of 50 states and 15 different countries. She enjoyed reading, oil painting, flower gardening, cooking, and playing tennis. She loved going to Grand Lake, where she enjoyed water skiing and fishing. Doris was a member of the Episcopal Church. Doris moved to Enid in 2007 to be close to her family. She moved into the Greenbrier Assisted Living in 2012.
Doris is survived by her daughters, Christine and husband David McCreary of Enid, Kimberly Wing of Vinita, OK and was “Nana” to her grandchildren Amy and husband Eric Keller, Dane McCreary and wife Hope of Fairborn, OH, and to her seven great grandchildren, Madalyn, Abigail, Isabel, Olivia, Aidan, Elliot, and Elena. She is also survived by her sister Carol Sue Gray and husband Norm of Santa Cruz, CA, and nephews Brian and Kevin Gray.
