Obituary for Elizabeth Lynn Beaty (Parson)

A Celebration of Life Service for Elizabeth L. Beaty age 60 of Enid will be 2 pm Friday October 3, 2014 at Central Christian Church with Rev. John McLemore and Rev. Don Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Little Cemetery, Seminole, OK at a later date. Cremation and Services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Liz was born August 18, 1954 in Blackwell, OK to Lee and Arlene Rush Parson and passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Liz attended and graduated from Vici High School. She attended and received her Bachelor of Science from Northwestern University in 1976. She later received her Masters of Accounting from Phillips University in 1987. Liz became a Certified Public Accountant in 1987. She worked for Randall and Brownlee CPA and BKD until she established Elizabeth L. Beaty, CPA in 1996.
Liz married Kent Beaty on October 1, 1976 in Enid.
Liz was an active member of Leadership Greater Oklahoma and of Leadership Greater Enid where she served a term as president. She was a member of the Oklahoma Society of CPA’s and of the Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce where she served a term on the board and was the former chairwoman of the Chamber of Commerce Education Committee. She was Co-Founder of Greater Enid Recognizing Opportunities of Tomorrow (ROOTS), and served on the advisory Board for National Bank of Commerce. Liz was nominated in 1998 for the Journal Record Woman of the Year.
Liz was crowned Miss Cinderella of Northwestern University and was Runner-up Miss Oklahoma.
She is survived by her husband Kent of the home, father Lee Parson of Moore, step children Travis and Dain Beaty, 3 step grandchildren; sister in law Linda (Beaty) Scofield; niece, Lauren Scofield, nephews, Wil Scofield and Christian Scofield; cousin, Sabrina Bridges and her close friends Cindy Smith and Mandy DeLaCruz.
Liz was preceded in death by her mother Arlene Parson and her infant sister, Sabrina.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
