Condolence: It seems I have known Joyce as long as I can remember. Daddy and Mama (Buster and Vena)were friends of Joyce and Smitty for years. I grew up with Doug and Janie. Y'all are in my thoughts and prayers. May God wrap his arms around your family and give you peace and comfort. Joyce was such a sweet lady and she will truly be missed.

Condolence: As I grew up into young adulthood, our families were intertwined so closely that it seemed we were truly one family. My memories of Smitty and Joyce are so dear to me. Mama and I would love to go into Woolworth's, make our way to the basement, and visit with Joyce as she worked. Smitty always called Mama "Chockie" in friendly recognition of her Native American heritage. Being close in age to Carol and Ronnie, I remember many days and evenings playing and talking with them. Joyce and my Mama bore hardships they did not deserve, but their families always brought them joy. Events keep me from attending Joyce's service, but I will honor her in my heart and mind. My prayer is that the family can take comfort in the many wonderful memories they have of Joyce. I know I will. God bless you, Joyce, and rest in peace.

Condolence: I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Joyce passing. In my adult years I have only seen her at the family reunion but I remember playing at her house when I was a kid. I always enjoyed going to Uncle Mabon and Aunt Joyce's place whenever we got the chance. I know she was loved and will be missed, but right now she is in the presence of the Lord. There is no greater reward for any of us than that! I will be praying for all of her surviving family, that the Lord will console them in their time of grief.
