Obituary for Thurman Lamar Sparks

A Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Pastor Thurman Sparks, 87, of Goltry, Ok will be Monday, May 18, 2015, 10:00 AM at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph Stubbs officiating. Interment will follow in the Karoma Cemetery in Goltry, OK.
Thurman was born February 22, 1928 in Coushatta, LA the son of Joe and Maggie Harper Sparks and passed away May 14, 2015. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during WWII. Thurman was united in marriage to Betty Harman January 14, 1949 in Enid, OK. He was employed by Gold Spot Dairy for over thirty years. He was an ordained Minister of the gospel for over 50 years and served his last pastorate at Victory Bible Church in Enid, OK. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his grandchildren, playing his guitar, and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for sharing Jesus Christ with everyone he met.
Survivors include his wife Betty, three daughters, Larue Buller and her husband Lyle of Meno, OK, Lavatta Sparks of Enid, Rhonda Sanders and her husband Vernon Jr. of Goltry, OK., seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild, and a sister, Bobbie LaNell Nemitz of Ringgold, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, O.T. and one grandson, Todd.
