Obituary for James Frank Voss

A Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for James F. Voss, 84, of Enid, will be Monday, November 9, 2015, 2:00 PM at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Father Aaron Foshee as Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 6 to 7PM.

Jim was born August 5, 1931 the son of Joseph and Anna Mueggenborg Voss and passed away November 5, 2015 at his residence. He was a graduate of Holy Trinity High School in Okarche, OK in 1949. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Mildred Fuksa July 15, 1954 in Bison, OK and she preceded him in death January 22, 1987. He then married Lavada Thrasher Moore December 28, 1996 in Enid, OK. He was a 31 year employee of ONG working as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Jim spent many years volunteering for the Soup Kitchen and enjoyed playing music for many venues. His instruments of choice were the bass, piano and the accordion playing by ear. He will be remembered for his generosity sharing many things from his garden.

Survivors include his wife, Lavada, four daughters, Rhonda Brown and her husband Jerry of Dover, OK, Sandra Kronenbitter and her husband Edward of Enid, Pamela Hanan and her husband Gregg of Houston, TX, Tisha Emerson and her her husband Benjamin of Edmond, OK, three sons, Ronald Moore of Garber, OK, Jim Moore of Wichita, KS and Terry Moore and his wife Lori of Arlington, TX, fourteen grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a sister, Loretta Schafer of Okarche, OK, two brothers, Robert Voss of Yukon, OK and Joseph Voss of El Reno, OK. and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Curtis Hixon.
