Jack Mac Arthur  Douma
A Celebration of Life Service for Jack Mac Arthur Douma, ”The Culligan Man” age 70 of Enid will be 2:00 pm Saturday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Susan Southall officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends Friday, April 29, 2016 at the funeral home from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. Arrangements and Cremation are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Jack was born October 16, 1945 in Lake Park, Iowa to Arthur and Ethel Mac Arthur Douma and passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at his home. Jack attended and graduated from Starbuck High School in Starbuck, MN in 1963. He attended Morningside College in Sioux City, IA and later attended and graduated from Angelo State University in San Angelo, TX with a degree in Business Administration in 1970. He married Sheryl Culp on July 6, 1968 in Estherville, IA.
Culligan was his career-- working for his parents at their dealership, then at Culligan International as a sales trainer and ultimately purchasing Culligan of Enid in October 1981. Jack was a member of 1st United Methodist Church and the Roosters Men’s Group. Jack was a big booster of EHS and OSU Baseball cooking for thousands of kids across the country. He also shared his culinary skills with local community organizations. He was a supporter of Camp Fire Girls, Wounded Warrior Project and St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Jack was honored as a nominee for Pillar of the Plains and a proclamation from the City of Enid for “Jack Douma Day”.
Jack is survived by his wife, Sheryl of the home, sons Todd and his wife Stephanie Douma of Scottsdale, AZ and Scott and wife Jennifer Douma of Enid, grandchildren Will, Maggie and Ryan, brothers, Jim and wife Karen Douma of Des Moines, IA, and Jary and wife Marsha Douma of Moore, OK, his favorite mother-in-law Norma Culp of Enid, and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Ruth Ann Douma.
Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or 1st United Methodist Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
