Obituary for James R. Craig

James R. Craig
A Celebration of Life for James R. “Jim” Craig, age 71 years, of Kremlin, is 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Alan Gloor officiating. Burial will follow in Kremlin Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, September 15, 2017. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Jim was born October 13, 1945 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Norman and Dixie (Norman) Craig, and passed away Monday, September 11, 2017 in Enid.

Jim attended Enid High School until his junior year, he then transferred to Kremlin High School where he graduated in 1963, and also met the love of his life, Mary Hole. They were married on the family farm on September 8, 1963, and just celebrated 54 years of marriage. He began working for Rock Island Railroad in 1964 and retired in 2005 after 41 years of service. Jim also was a home builder, and built many of the homes in 7-Pines and Quail Creek Additions while working for Munson Construction. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, the Moose Lodge, the Sports Car Club of America, and was an avid golfer. Jim dedicated his life to his family, and to Kremlin-Hillsdale Schools. He coached softball, football, basketball and baseball, never missing his children’s or grandchildren’s games. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, and cheering on his K-H Broncs and his OSU Cowboys.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Dixie Craig; daughter, Annette Butler; brother, Jack Craig; and father-in-law William Hole. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Craig, of the home in Kremlin; three children, Donna Rainey and husband Lyndon, of Kremlin; Jimmy Craig and wife Virginia, of Kremlin; Kelly Moffett and husband Joe, of Enid; nine grandchildren, Josh Rainey and wife Leslie, of Enid; Matthew Rainey of Enid; Christopher Ring of Oklahoma City; Bailey Craig of Grand Cayman Island; Aaron Butler of Oklahoma City; Mary Mitchell of Enid; Briley Craig of Kremlin; Brandon Butler of Belfast, Maine; Mahayla Mitchell, of Enid; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.

Memorials in Jim’s name may be made to Kremlin-Hillsdale Athletic Fund with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
