Franklin E. Luckett
A Celebration of Life service for Franklin E. “Bill” Luckett age 92 of Enid will be 10 am Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army, with burial following in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Bill was born October 19, 1925 in Castle, OK to Frank and Jessie (Bishop) Luckett and passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 at his home. He grew up on a farm near Okemah, OK. He attended school in his early years at Pleasant Oak, a one-room school and graduated from Okemah High School in 1945. He entered the U. S. Army in 1945, serving in Bamberg, Germany. After being discharged in 1947, he began a career in the oil industry. His work with Champlin Oil, A&P Drilling, Dowell Service Co. and Quickway Hotshot Service required him to move to many locations, including Andrews, TX, then Medicine Lodge and Garden City, KS, Duncan, Kingfisher, Enid, Healdton and Woodward. He retired and moved back to Enid in 1995.
He met Barbara Brumley while in Texas, and they were married August 5, 1948 at the West Park Baptist Church in Pecos, TX. Before becoming a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Enid, at the time during his life when he was traveling for his career, he served as a deacon in several of the churches he and Barbara attended. He served as deacon emeritus at Calvary Baptist Church for ten years. Bill and Barbara loved crafts and attending their grandchildren’s sporting events, family reunions and get-togethers especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. He and Barbara loved to travel in their RV, sometimes taking members of the family, and have traveled to 46 states and Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada. Bill was a hard-worker, his main goal was to provide for his family, taking them to church and other activities. He enjoyed fishing and yardwork before his health began to fail.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Jesse Luckett; two sons, Mark and Keith Luckett; grandson Brent Luckett; son-in-law John Sciro; brother Ed Luckett; sisters, Ernestine McBride and Kathryn England; brother-in-law Jim Hunter, and sister-in-law Betty Hall.

Bill is survived by his wife of 69 years, Barbara of the home in Enid; daughter Karen Sciro of the home, nine grandchildren: Brian Luckett, Kim Long, Blake Luckett, Derek Smith, Drake Smith, Dylan Smith, Drew Smith, Shelby Luckett and Trenton Luckett; 13 great grandchildren: Lily Grace Luckett, Ava Jo Long, Ace Long, Dalton Smith, Slade Smith, Emory Tatum Smith, Sutton Smith, Sawyer Smith, Macy Smith, Eli Luckett, Abe Long, Axl Long, and Maddox Smith and sister, Geri Hunter of Purcell, OK.
