Obituary for William Charles "Charlie" Davis

William Charles "Charlie" Davis
A Celebration of Life for William Charles “Charlie” Davis is 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Garden Chapel of Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Charlie was born March 15, 1950 in Alva, Oklahoma to Clifford R. and Beatrice A. (Blunk) Davis, and passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 in Enid.
Charlie attended first grade in Lahoma Public Schools, then the family moved to Enid where he attended Enid Public Schools until his senior year when he moved back to Lahoma and graduated with the class of 1968, the same class he had attended when he was in the first grade. After graduation, he attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University for a year, then after losing his brother during the Vietnam War, he came back home to Enid to work as a welder, which he continued throughout most of his life. He moved to Florida in 1977 where he married Donna Jarvis. They had two children, Daniel Ray and Katherine Marie. They lived in Florida until Charlie felt the need to move back to Enid to help care for his mother following the loss of his father Clifford. His favorite leisure time activities were fishing and hunting, especially during deer season.
He is preceded in death by his father, Clifford Raymond Davis; brother, Sgt. Ray Gene Davis; three sisters, Luann Swiggett; Phyllis Nighswonger; and Beverly Merett.
He is survived by his mother, Beatrice Davis, of the home in Enid; two children, Daniel Ray Davis, daughter Katie Dodge and husband Adam, all of Kissimmee, Florida; sister, Barbara Boeckman, of Enid; one grandson, Eli Dodge, and twin granddaughters Paisley and Willow Dodge; Uncle Virgil Laubach, of Wyoming; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials in Charlie’s name may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Oklahoma with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
