A Celebration of Life service for Betty Slaton age 83 of Enid will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Jim Edmison officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will recieve friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Betty was born January 9, 1935 in Harold, TX. to John Leonard and Vera Elfa Stubblefield Phelps and passed away Friday, September 21, 2018 in St. Mary’s Hospital. She was raised in Texas and she graduated from Whitesboro, TX. She married J. W. Slaton on October 6, 1954 in Sherman, TX. They moved to Enid from Whitesboro, TX in 1957.
Betty is survived by her children; Weldon Gene Slaton and wife Sandy, David L. Slaton both of Enid, two daughters; Sharon Eckhardt and Lisa Ratzlaff both of Enid, 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, four brothers; Dub, Virgil, Billy, and Orval, and a sister Vera Burdg and several other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband J. W. Slaton, two brothers and five sisters and a grandson.
