Obituary for Victor H. Roggow (Roggow)

The Funeral service for Victor H. Roggow, age 89 of Breckinridge will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at 2:00 pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Breckinridge, OK, with Rev. Travis Orr Officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Victor was born August 24, 1929, on the Roggow family farm north of Breckinridge to Reinhard C. and Ella Schossow Roggow and passed away Friday, September, 21, 2018. He was the 9th of 11 children. His baptism was on September 15, 1929, and his confirmation was on May 7, 1944. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School in Breckinridge. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in Alaska during the Korean Conflict.
On July 13, 1958, Victor was married to Joy Lee Oppel at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Kingfisher, OK. They made their home for a short time in Enid before moving to Breckinridge. Victor was a lifelong farmer in the Breckinridge community raising wheat and cattle. Victor was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Breckinridge serving in various offices for many years. He was a member of the American Legion, the Lutheran Layman’s League, and the Kremlin Water Board. He also served on the Union precinct election board where he held the office of inspector. He was part of the team that procured the initial grant for the building of the Breckinridge Community Center and he served as its treasurer for many years.

He is survived by his children: Vicki Pflughaupt and husband Kelby of Seward, NE, and Ricky Roggow of Breckinridge, OK; his grandchildren, Reed Pflughaupt and fiancé Joceline Andrade, Renee Pflughaupt, and Ryan Pflughaupt, and 2 great grandchildren; siblings Bernice McCanless of Enid and Rev. Gerald Roggow and wife Judy of Breckinridge as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Joy, four sisters, Bertha Loesch, Della Palmer, Hilda Roggow and Minnie Wilgus, four brothers, Herman, Bernhard, Erwin and Wallace Roggow.

Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Hour or to the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery Perpetual Fund with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
