Obituary for Kimberly Sue Jantz (Gregory)

It is with great sadness that the family of Kimberly Sue Jantz announces her sudden passing on Sunday, December 23, 2018, at the age of 59. Kimberly will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jeffrey (Megan) Jantz, Michelle (Michael) Rundle, Lauren (Tyler) Norcom, Caitlin Jantz, Morgan (Chris) Kuykendall and Logan Jantz. Kimberly will also be fondly remembered by her six grandchildren, Mason, Camberly, Keaton, Ella, Case and Everett, by her brother Scot (Lynn) Gregory and her parents Rex (Pat) Gregory. Kimberly was predeceased by her husband Darrell and children Gregory and Lesli.

Kimberly started a family with Darrell in 1979 and became a full time stay at home mom. She served diligently at the Oklahoma Hemophilia Foundation, even serving on the board, in an effort to reach out to other families afflicted with hemophilia. She attended the Ames Christian Church since childhood and served in several positions throughout the years. She also served as a supporter for compassionate friends, a grief group centered on the loss of children.

Kimberly built a life together with Darrell that proved to be difficult early on with the loss of their daughter followed by the loss of their son. Kimberly and Darrell persevered and continued to rebuild their family but never forgot their lost children. Kimberly went on to enjoy participating in community events and her children’s activities. Much of her life was spent in a car driving not just one child to an activity, but multiple activities in a single day all the while with a screaming baby in the back seat. It’s hard enough to imagine the dedication and time to raise six kids, it’s absolutely amazing to have accomplished this feat with basketball, track, dance, gymnastics,4-H, and FFA. She was very proud of being a “Mema” to six beautiful grandchildren; she would brag on them to anyone who would listen. Kim was a woman of many talents; she loved decorating, gardening, and trying new recipes, especially if it was pioneer woman. Her family grieves the loss of her presence, but also has the comfort of knowing she is now hand in hand with her husband and two children.
The Celebration of Kimberly’s life will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Ames Christian Church with Reverend Sherry Shaw officiating. The family will lay Kimberly to rest privately in the Ames Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Those who so desire may make donations in memory of Kimberly to the Ames Cemetery with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
