Condolence From: Karen Ransford
Condolence: I am Karen Ring Ransford, Wynne’s little sister. My mother and my sister Wynne had the closest bond, I have always thought they were soulmates, they just seem to know what the other was thinking and wanting. They could set and talk for hours. So it’s no wonder that Wynne was always the driver when we went on vacations with Mom. On one such trip to Monument Lake Colorado I talked my sister Wynne into going hiking with me. Impromptu Of course. We weren’t dressed for hiking and we weren’t really thinking about wildlife; just thinking about what we could see, we ended up going through all kinds of brush, the only way out was to go on through it and when we came out our clothes and our hose (stockings) we had on were just in shreds. We about laughed ourselves silly. We made our way back to the cabins where we were staying the easy way and we’re laughing and talking as we came around the corner to see our mother outside of the cabin with her camera ‘shooting’ pictures of a wild bear that was looking for food. He was walking on the wall at the time and he was between us and her. We were trying to get her attention to go back inside the cabin without alerting the bear that we were there on the other side. If u want to talk about some panic moments but everybody stayed calm (Wynne) enough and we got through it I don’t know why the bear decided to amble off without finding something to eat (us) but he did and oh my gosh I wasn’t sure about staying the night there at all but we did. Looking back on it it is so funny but it was terrifying at the time. Mom’s friend Betty Bowman painted a bear on a small rock that she kept on her kitchen sink window to remind us of our bear adventure. All good memories. Wynne could always find something to laugh about. I will miss my sister Wynne, her laughter, her friendship. She loved all her family.
