Obituary

A Celebration of Life for Walter E. Richardson, age 89, of Enid, is 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 13, 2019 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Ames Cemetery.
Walter was born October 9, 1929 to Walter and Clara (Loy) Richardson and passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019 in Clinton, Oklahoma.
Walter attended El Reno Public Schools. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He married Marjorie Swart on June 7, 1956. He worked for Rock-Island Railroad in El Reno, and then began working for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas. He and Marjorie came to Enid in 1958 and he began working for Vance Air Force Base as a welder for over 30 years until his retirement in 1994 at the age of 65. Walter and Marjorie enjoyed traveling all over the United States, camping out at Canton Lake, visiting the Salt Plains, and Roman Nose State Park. Walter and Marjorie were long time members of the First Church of the Nazarene in Enid.
Walter is preceded by his wife, Marjorie; parents, Walter G. and Clara Richardson; two brothers, and five sisters.
He is survived by two daughters, Susan Reid and husband Vince, of Enid; Cindy Kuhlman and husband Lester, of Minco, OK; two grandchildren; Misty Kuhlman and partner, Kattie Boss, of Minco; Jeff Reid and wife Ashley, of Enid; four great-grandchildren, Dakota Rhoades, of Minco, OK; Nate ,Natalie, and Addison Reid, all of Enid; sister-in-law Marita Schwind of Yukon, OK; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial’s in Walter’s name may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

Thank you everyone for the kind words and many prayers for my family as we go though the loss of my Grandpa. Thank yout Ladusau-Evens for the wonderful service today. Thank your Pastor Bruce for a great service. Some tears where shed but most of all the laughter. I think Grandpa would be blest and his heart full of joy today seeing the people he loved and cared for laughing and remembering all the great times. I know i have years of memories of both my grandparents. I know grandma is making sure he stays in line and doesn't stay to far behind as she shows him all the many wonderful things he has in his new life. I made her promise to not take him the day he passed on Thursday until Dakota and I got there to say goodbye. And wouldn't you know, she did just that. I told my grandma to teach him to show me a sign when he is with me just as she has. I will say, Grandpa keep a eye on us, keep us safe, and every once in a while make us laugh.

So very sorry to hear of Walter's passing-he was a wonderful man. He sure knew how to make you laugh. Now he & Marjorie are together again. Many blessings for the family. May God grant you all peace.
