Irene was a sweet, loving and beautiful example of a Christian woman. She made a memorable difference in so many lives where ever she lived or visited. For the last 50 years, she made me feel special. On July 16, 2013 she wrote to me..."I want to let you know how much you mean to me, a daughter, forever friend, a prayer partner and so much more. Good memories we have of times gone by; family trips, meals to the field, joy and may times we cried. I send today-peace and love"
I am grateful for the tremendous role model and true inspiration she always exhibited; setting the standard high for all!
Irene loved and cherished her grandchildren and great grands; leaving them a tremendous legacy to pass on. She will continue to soar on butterfly wings and watch over us from heaven. I miss and love you so much. Susan Diel

She was a great neighbor as well as she and I sang in Country Girls together. I cut her hair also. Very sweet lady who loved her family dearly. In Christ Love, Rod and Peggy Rieger

I am so blessed to have spent almost 50 years with my beautiful gramma! All my memories of Gramma Irene are imprinted and will be with me always! Nights on the back patio making diamond rings out of fireflies, swimming in the stock tank she had brought into her backyard, Christmas time spent with all the family at Gramma’s house, summers walking to the drug store and putting it on Gramma’s tab, running to her front door to watch the train go by, seeing her stand at the driveway with tears running down her face as she waved and we drove home. Taking cover in the basement when the storms came, sleeping with Gramma and me ruining it for everyone else cause I slept sideways, swimming at the pool with all the cousins, eating frog legs, and sitting on her lap as she taught me to burp. She was truly the Gramma anyone would love to have! She has left a legacy and she was the glue that kept this family together! She loved to the very depths of her heart! She is a beautiful soul and I know that it was time for her to be with Jesus, but she has left me with so many beautiful memories that I will carry in my heart until I am with her in heaven! I love you Gramma Irene!

My condolences to the Harguess family. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of dear Eva. Some Bible scriptures that have helped me during times of loss include Isaiah 26:19 and Psalm 37:28,29 which states in part: "Your dead ones will live...They will rise up". And the Bible also says "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will forever reside upon it". Therefore the Bible promises that we may be reunited with our loved ones lost in death by means of an earthly resurrection. This is further confirmed by John 5:28,29 which says "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". This is possible thanks to Jesus Christ's ransom sacrifice. Thus we have a genuine hope of everlasting life in a world without wickedness or suffering.
