Obituary for Nancy Cherylin Powell

A celebration of life for Nancy Powell, 64, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, formerly of Enid, will be 1:00p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel.

Nancy C. Voth Powell was born November 26, 1954 in Bethany, Oklahoma and passed away on June 3, 2019 following a battle with cancer. She graduated from Enid High School in 1973 and then joined the U.S. Navy. At the age of 30, Nancy returned to school and received her Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Southern California. She then attended the California School of Professional Psychology in San Diego where she received her Doctorate in Psychology. She graduated in 1997 as a clinical psychologist.

Nancy specialized in the treatment of sexual abuse victims and had a practice in Fort Smith, Arkansas for 18 years. She deeply loved her family, friends, patients, and pets.

Nancy was preceded in death by her loving parents, Harry and Ruth Voth, of Enid, OK; her half-brother, Michael Powell, of Mesquite, TX who passed in 2007 from cancer; her biological father, Johnny Powell, of Mesquite, TX who passed in 2004; and her half sister, Paige Klett, of Fort Worth, TX.

She is survived by her daughter, Marissa Powell; her grandson, Brendan Christman; her birth mother, Shirley Bryant, of Houston, TX; her sister, Ann Luna, of Tampa, FL; Jill Kelly, of Grapevine, TX; her cousins from the Voth and Geihsler families; her brother; her sister-in-law Alma Alice Powell, who she was very close to; and numerous nieces and nephews.
