Obituary for Suzanne E. Johnson (Schultz)

A Celebration of Life Service for Suzanne Johnson age 68 of Enid will be 10:00 am Saturday at
Oakwood Christian Church with Eric Keller and Joe Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the
Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will
receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Suzanne was born July 18, 1950 in Enid to Chester and Velma Johnson Schultz and passed away
suddenly July 15, 2019 in St. Mary’s Hospital.
Suzanne married Stephen Johnson on August 12, 1972. She was a charter member and actively
served at Oakwood Christian Church.
Suzanne invested 42 years of her life into teaching and loving elementary students. She enjoyed
caring for the family acreage, mowing on her John Deere mower, gardening, sewing, planning
family events, and caring for her children and grandchildren. She was an avid OKC Thunder fan.
After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, volunteering her time at Loaves &
Fishes and attending Community Bible Study. She enjoyed the details of life, noticing when the
wheat turned, or being in awe at the sunset to taking great care with her aging mother. She could
talk to anyone and always left them feeling loved, whether a neighbor, a church member or the
Lowe’s flower lady. It was her life’s work to make sure that everyone she encountered felt
encouraged and empowered. There was no shortage of laughter or 4th grade jokes when you were
around Suzanne.
She is survived by her husband Steve of the home, daughters Somer and husband Josh Quade and
Stephanie Johnson, and grandchildren, Caleb, Ella, Jenna and Lyla Quade, sister Diane Loesch,
brothers; Stan and wife Debbie Schultz and Richard and wife Vicki Schultz.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be made to Suzanne E. Johnson Educational Scholarship with Ladusau-Evans Funeral
Home serving as custodians of the funds.
