I met Gene in 1970 when I was 15 years old as he lived across the street from us with his brother Billy "Wayne" Nimmo. I remember him and I driving to Oklahoma City on my 16th Birthday and went to drive in theater and eating at Steak and Ale...I dated Gene throughout my Enid High School years and we married July 7 1973 after I had graduated... Lots of camping and fishing trips. We had two children Donovan and Deanna and divorced in 1981. Donovan was our firstborn and was murdered 2005 and we never recovered his remains and this was devastating to all our families/friends. We have a grandson from Deanna, KeShawn Haley and he now has a baby 5 months old KeShawn Jr (our first great grandson). I remember during the years I was with Gene the many Sunday dinners at Mom (Emma and Roy) Nimmo's house in Lahoma...and our many hands of Canasta. We always had 4th of July and popped firecrackers and had cookout with the Nimmo clan (mom and dad Nimmo, Vernon and Wayne and Toni and the Felber and Rowe families and our children. Lots of cherished memories.... Rest in peace Gene...…
