Phyllis was born February 27, 1935 in Enid, the daughter of Carl and Edith Langkiet. She was united in marriage to Jimmy J. Hilton on October 10, 1952. Together they lived in several states and Europe before retiring to their hometown of Enid after Jim’s 32 year military career. They remained married for 67 years until Phyllis’ death.
Phyllis was a devoted wife and loving mother of three children, five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She was active in Officer’s Wives Clubs, local churches throughout her many moves and was a hospital volunteer. She was an accomplished ceramicist and also enjoyed traveling and teaching her children to appreciate different places, cultures and people.
