Obituary for Rita Noreen Cornelson (Ragoss)
A Mass of Christian Burial for Rita N. Cornelson, age 89, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Enid, is 10:30 am, Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Mark Mason celebrating Rita’s life. Burial will be held at 9:30 am, prior to the church mass, in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. A Rosary will be held Tuesday, May 26th beginning at 6:00 pm at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Deacon Tony Crispo officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Rita was born in Hunter, Oklahoma on May 25, 1930; the third child of Glen J. and Lucille C. (Johndrow) Ragoss; and passed away on the morning of Saturday, May 23, 2020.
Rita attended Garber High School. She married Emerson “Rex” Cornelson on May 24, 1947 in Marshall, Oklahoma. They had two children, David and Brenda. In her adult life she worked at several Enid retail locations nine years at The Gazebo Gift Shop. She worked two years with Senior Action Group (RSVP), and later served her church by voluntarily working for 10 years at Our Lady of Lourdes Book and Gift Shop, located at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, where she was a long-time member.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Vernon Ragoss, and sister, Elaine Porter. She is survived by her son, David Cornelson and wife Becky, and her daughter, Brenda Sue Holt.
