Obituary for James Hubert Prochaska

A Celebration of Life for Jimmie (Buck) Prochaska, 87 years, of Lahoma, will be 10:30 am, Saturday, May 29, 2021, at the Good Hope Cemetery in Helena, Oklahoma, under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Cremation and services arranged by Ladusau-Evans.
Jimmie passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020 in his home in Lahoma. Jimmie was born on the family farm south of Goltry, OK on March 17, 1933. He is the son of the late J. C. and Rose (Bezdek) Prochaska. Jimmie attended a country school a few miles from his home, attending up to the eighth grade. As most normal farm kids did, he worked alongside his parents and brothers and sisters on the family farm. He never lost the passion of farming and working the soil. He met the love of his life Joann O’Brien at a dance in Enid. Jimmie and Joann were united in marriage on August 17, 1954 in the church at Phillips University. After the marriage, Joann followed Jimmie to where he was stationed while serving in the Army. After his discharge from the Army, they moved back to Oklahoma. Jimmie and Joann had three children, Rosemary, Jamie and Charlie. They bought a home in Goltry, where they lived until Joann passed away in 2006. Jimmie worked at Vance Air Force Base, retiring after 40 years.
Jimmie married Peggy Unruh on March 17, 2007 and they made their home in Lahoma.
Jimmie is survived by his wife Peggy, of the home in Lahoma; children, Rosemary Hinkle of Enid; Jamie and husband Cole Coulter of Goltry; Charlie Prochaska of Waukomis; seven grandchildren, Chambrey and his wife Misti Coulter of Yukon; Shelby Coulter of Owasso; Levi Hinkle of Enid; Dustin and wife Jenny of Louisiana; Paris and London Carrabella of Waukomis; six great-grandchildren; Jole Coulter, Emma and Grayson Hinkle, Hannah, Asher, and Nathan Hinkle; brothers, Bob and wife Donna Prochaska; Albert and wife Sharon Prochaska, both of Enid; sister Alice Dickson of Ringwood; sister-in-law Pat Prochaska; as well as several nieces and nephews who he truly loved. He also leaves five step-children; Sandra and Bert Weins of Lahoma; Greg and Debra Unruh of Ohio; Lonnie Unruh of Covington; Connie and Troy McMahan of Meno; Kent and Nancy Unruh of Tennessee; and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jimmie was preceded in death by a brother, George Prochaska, and brother-in-law, Jim Dickson.
