Obituary for Melville D. Aurenz
Melville D. Aurenz, 95, of Lafayette, IN, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2022 at IU Arnett Health in Lafayette.
Melville was born December 9, 1926 in Lafayette, Indiana to the late John D. and Una (Williford) Aurenz. His marriage was to Margaret A. Powell on April 11, 1957 in Denver, Colorado. She preceded him in death on December 15, 2003. Melville received his Bachelor of Arts in Agriculture from Purdue University in 1951. Professionally, he was self-employed in Continental Flower Markets from 1973 until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of First Christian Church in Lafayette and the Lafayette Model Rail Road Club. His hobbies included photography, model rail roading, and wood working.
Melville is survived by his son, Scot Aurenz of New Hampshire; sister, Delores (William) Burkle of Ohio; and a granddaughter, Stephanie.
A Graveside service will take place 1:00 PM Friday, January 28, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid, Oklahoma under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
