Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home Sunday, December 18th from 4:00-5:00pm.
Norina was born July 17, 1940, in Van Nuys, California to Edward H. Castine and Elpha Lucille Kirk. She peacefully passed away December 13, 2022, surrounded by loving family.
She attended schools in Washington and Oklahoma. Norina married Loren Wayne Wehrenberg on August 9, 1958, in the Kingfisher Christian Church. Together, they raised a family on their farm near Garber, Oklahoma. Later in life, she and Loren moved to Carrier, Oklahoma and worked for James Crabtree Correctional Center until retirement. They owned and operated the Wagon Wheel Vineyard in Carrier. She was a faithful member of the Eastern Star and a member of numerous clubs and organizations through the years.
Norina was a “Mom” to all she met, and she loved unconditionally. To her grands and great-grands, she was “Granny”. She was cherished by all and will be deeply missed.
Norina is survived by her children: Donnie Wehrenberg and wife Stephanie of Kingfisher; Gary Wehrenberg and fiancé Lexi of Carrier; Janene Burns of Rhome, Texas; Tammi Grantham and husband Frank of Springfield, Missouri; sisters: Loma Sullivan, Peggy Keyser, and Alvernia Savell; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
Norina was welcomed into heaven by her husband, Loren W. Wehrenberg; her parents; brothers, Jerry Castine and Jay Halverson; sister, Bertina Ratliff; daughter-in-law, Lisa Wehrenberg; great-granddaughter, Hadley Evan Burns; and great-grandson, Darius Reza Habibi.
The family extends gratitude to the staff of Golden Oaks and Elara Hospice who cared for her and to the many family and friends who kept her in prayer.
