Obituary for MARY ANN VOTH (Sherley)
A Celebration of Life Service for Mary Ann Voth age 89 of Kremlin will be 10:30 am Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Cross Point Church (formerly Enid Mennonite Brethren Church) with Rev Lynette Solomon officiating. Burial will follow in the Enid Mennonite Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Mary Ann was born January 23, 1934 in Fairland, OK to Lacy and Thelma (Morton) Sherley and passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023 in the Brookdale Enid Assisted Living. She traveled as a young child with her parents and graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa in 1951. She attended and received her Bachelor Degree in Speech Therapy from University of Tulsa. Mary Ann received her teaching certification from Phillips University. She married Johnny E. Voth on December 27, 1957 in Tulsa, OK and he passed away January 17, 2020. She taught at Kremlin-Hillsdale School for many years retiring in 1993. Mary Ann worked along side Johnny with farming and ranching for the 62 years of marriage. They were lifelong members of Enid Mennonite Brethren Church and they also attended Kremlin United Methodist Church. After retirement, she served as a certified mediator for Garfield County District Court, tutored with Enid Literacy Council, played Bridge and was a lifelong avid reader. Mary Ann was very passionate about her flowers and she was known for pulling weeds in the hot weather. She and Johnny enjoyed being supportive of their children and grandchildren’s activities, attending many ballgames, music and dance recitals, and stock shows. Mary Ann was a proud member of “AHCTA” and enjoyed their travels. She was a founding member of the Kremlin-Hillsdale Academic Enrichment Foundation.
She is survived by 3 Children, daughter Janet Streck and husband Mike of Kremlin, daughter Diane Fosmire and husband Andy of Enid, son Gary Voth and husband Ronald Belanger of Houston. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, David Streck, Johnny Streck, James (Pete) Streck, Matthew Streck, Jake Streck, Maxwell Fosmire, Libby Fosmire, Sophie Fosmire, Karleigh Voth Wells, Laci Voth and Trent Voth, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Don Sherley and sister Marsha Slack.
Memorials may be made to Kremlin-Hillsdale Academic Enrichment Foundation with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodians of the funds.
