Becky Kennedy

January 5, 1950 — June 20, 2025

Funeral services for Becky Jo Kennedy, age 75, of Enid, will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home with Pastor John Doffer officiating. Burial will follow in Tryon Cemetery, Tryon, Oklahoma, under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 pm on Friday, July 11th at the funeral home.

Becky Jo was born on January 5, 1950, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to Joseph "Hank" Scott and Elaine (Bennington) Scott and passed away Friday, June 20, 2025, in Oklahoma City.

After the early passing of her father, Hank, she was raised by her mother, Elaine, and George Lemmons in Ardmore, Oklahoma, along with her younger brother Stephen Scott, who preceded her in death. She attended high school in Ardmore where she spent much of her youth, where her first job was at the Torrence Monument Company.

Becky moved to Enid in the early 80s and spent 35 years working in car dealerships, where she eventually served as the office manager at Northcutt Chevrolet. She didn't start out with those skills-she learned everything on the job through persistence and hard work, building a successful career and becoming well-known for her passion for doing a great job and keeping things running smoothly. Becky was married to the love of her life, Leland Kennedy, for 17 years. Together, they especially enjoyed playing darts with friends, camping at Kaw Lake, and cheering on Sooner sports teams and the OKC Thunder - pastimes that brought them joy and lasting memories.

Leland preceded her in death. Becky was a supportive mother to her two daughters, Melissa Gard and Joann York. Melissa resides in Houston, Texas, and Joann lives in North Carolina with her husband, Bryan York. Becky was also a proud grandmother to Tessa York, the daughter of Joann and Bryan. Leland had two children from a previous marriage, Eric Kennedy (and wife Andi) and Lee Ann Stanart, and they, along with their sweet families, were an important part of their lives. Becky will be remembered for the generosity and kindness she offered to her dear friends and so many other people.
