Billy Dale Smith

March 6, 1943 — February 23, 2026

Billy Dale Smith, retired Deputy Chief for the Enid Fire Department and current owner/operator of Plants-A-Plenty, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026, at his home in Enid, surrounded by the love of his family. A memorial service will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Grace Bible Church with Pastor Steven McClaren officiating. Cremation and service arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Billy was born March 6, 1943, in Enid, Oklahoma to Edwin Lee and Lilly Elizabeth (Buller) Smith. He graduated from Enid High School.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, a good man with a good heart. Billy enjoyed fishing, building, taxidermy and football. He was known for his love of Jesus, steady presence, generous heart, and sense of humor. He proudly served in the U.S. Army; he was a Volkswagen mechanic for 7 years and served 20 years as an Enid Firefighter retiring in 1987 and was the owner/operator of Plants of Plenty.

Billy is survived by his wife of 61 years, Connie (Barker) Smith, his children; Jacqueline Henderson and husband Jesse, Duane Smith and wife Karla, and three grandchildren; Riley Henderson and husband Adrian Guana, Isaiah and Royal Smith as well as three great- grandchildren, a sister; Judy Carrier and brother; David Smith.

Special thanks to Elara Caring Hospice for their kindness and compassionate care shown to Billy, they made his final days so much easier, and ours as well.

Memorial contributions in Billy's name may be made to the Enid SPCA with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
