A Celebration of life service for Cherry Cummings, age 93, of Enid will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Wade Burleson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7pm, on Tuesday, August 12 at the funeral home. Service arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Cherry was born on February 3, 1932, in Cherokee, OK to Walter and Audra (Warlick) Stebens, and passed away on August 7, 2025, in Enid.
Cherry graduated from Enid High School in 1950, after graduating, she worked Kresse's Department Store, then she worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, retiring in 1985, after thirty-two years. She married Gene on November 3, 1950, at Calvary Baptist Church in Enid.
Cherry was gracious, kind, patient, and she loved the Lord. She served at Emmanuel Baptist Church and Gideons International for many years. She was wonderful mother and loved her family.
Cherry enjoyed quilting, traveling to over thirty countries with Gene and the family.
Cherry was preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons, Trent Teel, and Stephen Bussell. She is survived by her husband of seventy-three years, and nine months Gene; children, Bradley "Brad" (Diane) Cummings, Bev (Stephen) Bussell; four grandchildren, Brandi, Bridget, Tasha, and Seth; thirteen great-grandchildren; three nephews, and one niece.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gideons International for distribution of bibles, with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.
