A Celebration of Life Service for Clara G. Ratzlaff age 86 of Enid will be 10:00 am Saturday, December 27, 2025 at the New Hopedale Mennonite Church, Meno with Rev. James Suderman officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hopedale Mennonite Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Clara was born July 4,1939 in Fairview, OK to George and Anna (Nightengale) Wahl and passed away Friday, December 19,2025 in the Baptist Village Nursing Home. She attended grade school in Fairview and attended Lahoma High School until her Jr. year and graduated from Oklahoma Bible Academy in 1957. Clara married Merlyn Ratzlaff on June 15,1958 at New Hopedale Mennonite Church. She attended Enid Beauty College. She opened a beauty shop in Meno and operated it for 10 years. She went to work as a receptionist for First Baptist Church and later as a receptionist for Bass Hospital. In 1993, they moved to Angel Fire, New Mexico where she worked as a housekeeper in the cabins at Eagles Nest, NM. Later she worked in housekeeping and receptionist for the Angel Fire Ski Resort. Clara loved to quilt and later opened her own Quilt Shop. They spent many years splitting their time between Enid and Angel Fire.
Clara was integrally involved through the OBA Women's Auxiliary Union, Dutch Suppers, helping grade papers, and hosting OBA boy's dorm students on the weekends. Clara also helped with the farming with providing the meals and driving the grain truck during harvest.
They were lifetime members of New Hopedale Mennonite Church where she was involved in VBS, special music and served as youth sponsors.
Clara is survived by her husband of 67 years Merlyn, sons Mike Ratzlaff, Kevin (Rochelle) Ratzlaff, and Brent(Michelle) Ratzlaff, her grandchildren; Derek (Cassidy) Ratzlaff, Gregg (Jyl) Ratzlaff, Colby (Abby) Ratzlaff, Emma Ratzlaff, Ethan (Kaylee) Ratzlaff, and Sadie Ratzlaff, great grandchildren Kirstyn, Wyatt, Lilly, Caden, Cole, Siri, Leightyn, Case, Juliette and Rosemary, great-great grandchildren Maci and Walker, her sister Janie Cravens and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to New Hopedale Mennonite Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory serving as custodians of the funds.
