Deanna Thorp

July 21, 1943 — November 19, 2025

A Celebration of Life for Deanna Ruth (Wojahn) Thorp will be 2:00 pm, Monday, November 24, 2025, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home with Pamela Humphrey and Reverend Jim Edmison officiating. The family will lay Deanna to rest privately in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Deanna Ruth (Wojahn) Thorp, only child of Herbert and Nola Wojahn, was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma, on July 21, 1943, and went to meet her Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 19, 2025.

Deanna graduated from Enid High School in 1961 and later attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University and Phillips University.

Deanna married her sweetheart, Otho (Jr.) Thorp on June 2,1963 at Olivet Baptist Church in Enid, and they enjoyed 62 years of marriage.

Helena National Bank was her place of employment for nearly a decade. Additionally, she worked at the Helena Drugstore, City Clerk and the Census Bureau. Otho commented that she always pitched in to help him with whatever he was doing mowing numerous lawns, detailing vehicles and even cleaning out the “mud pit” at the car wash they owned.

Her love for music was demonstrated in her talent, as she played the accordion, the piano and the organ. She served as a church pianist in her younger years and gave piano lessons.

One of Deanna’s favorite pastimes was attending garage and estate sales. She had a good eye for seeing the value and potential in items. She especially watched for incense burners, as she was a collector. She enjoyed crafting with her mother, and, for a time, she, Otho and her parents had booths at various craft shows throughout NW Oklahoma. She also gave her hand-crafted necklaces to many friends.

Otho and Deanna rescued many cats. It seemed stray cats knew exactly where to find refuge. After taking them to Veterinarian Dr. Yauk for necessary care, Deanna could quickly and decisively name each one (if the vet didn’t beat her to it).

Deanna was a very kind lady. She loved both sides of the family. Also, people commented how her pretty brown eyes would sparkle, as she smiled and showed those adorable dimples.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Herbert and Nola Wojahn; brothers-in-law, Terry Thorp and Virgil Thorp of Helena, and Cecil Thorp of Enid.

Deanna is survived by her husband Otho, of Enid; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Hollis Thorp and wife, Pam of Fairview; two additional sisters-in-law, Marilyn Thorp of Helena and Judy Thorp of Enid; cousins, nephews, nieces and a host of friends.

The Thorps would like to thank everyone who came to visit Deanna in the hospital and rest home. Additionally, they would like to thank Hospice Circle of Love and the Greenbriar Nursing Home for their care of Deanna.

Memorials in Deanna’s honor may be made to Hospice Circle of Love, Enid Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ESPCA) or a charity of your choice with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

The family requests that casual dress be worn.
