Graveside service for Dennis Leroy Misak, age 85, of Enid, will be 2:00 pm, Friday, June 19, 2026, at the Rosemound Cemetery in Medford, with Pastor Kateena Aebi Roberts officiating. Service arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Dennis was born on November 4, 1940, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Adolph and Mildred (Byers) Misak. He passed away on June 15, 2026, in Enid, Oklahoma.
At a young age, Dennis moved with his family to Wakita, where he grew up and graduated from Wakita High School in 1959. Following high school, he attended Okmulgee Tech, studying refrigeration and graduating in 1961. He began his career with Penner Refrigeration in Weatherford, Oklahoma, before moving to Liberal, Kansas, to work for W.W. White. His career path later brought him to Medford, Oklahoma, where he began an apprenticeship with Feist Electric, gaining the skills that would shape the rest of his working life.
On June 6, 1965, Dennis married the love of his life, Darla Dahlem. The following year, the couple moved to Enid, where Dennis joined the electrical shop at Vance Air Force Base. While in Enid, they welcomed their son, Alen Lee, and began building a life centered on family and hard work.
In 1971, Dennis accepted a position in the refrigeration department at Ideal Foods. That same year, he and Darla were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Melia Kay, completing their family. A short time later, Dennis spent two years in Borger, Texas, working for Fish Engineering of Houston. Although the opportunity took him away from home, Oklahoma remained close to his heart.
In 1973, Dennis and his family returned to Medford, where he turned his years of experience and determination into a dream of his own. On April 3, 1973, he founded Misak Electrical and Refrigeration. Through dedication, integrity, and an unwavering work ethic, he built a respected business that faithfully served customers throughout the area for more than 45 years. Dennis remained actively involved in the business until his retirement in September 2018, when he officially closed the doors of Misak Electrical and Refrigeration.
Throughout his life, Dennis took great pride in his work, his family, and the communities he called home. His legacy is one of perseverance, craftsmanship, and service to others.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents; wife Darla; and brother Charles Misak. He is survived by a son Alen and daughter-in-law Trisha Misak of Oklahoma, daughter Melia and son-in-law Steve Cox of Arizona, grandson Tyler and wife Kali Cox of California, granddaughter Aubrey Cox of Arizona; sister-in-law Sharon Misak of Maryland; sister-in-law Donna and brother-in-law Glen Beckham of Oklahoma; nephew Brian Misak, nieces Erin Coudon, Leah Fryer, Evie Strunk, and Kyla Hill and honorary daughter Sylvia Garza of Monterrey, Mexico.
