Funeral services for Donna Lee (Gerhard) Heffron, age 80, of Enid, will be 10:30 am, Monday, August 11, 2025, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Vernon Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 pm on Sunday, August 10th.
Donna was born November 24, 1944, in Enid, to Alvin and Beulah (Noland) Gerhard, and passed away at her home on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
Donna graduated from Enid High School in 1962. She attended Phillips University where she studied music. When she was 12, Donna worked at Semke's Root Beer Stand. During her high school years, she worked for Nanny's Nursery and St. Mary's Hospital Dietary Kitchen. She worked at Phillips University Seminary for several years then, worked for the United States Postal Service in Enid where she retired after 23 years of service. During her time at the post office, she won the "Outstanding Career Bargaining Unit Employee" award in 2000. In her spare time, Donna volunteered at Glenwood Elementary School. She held an advanced class amateur radio license and was a member of the Enid Amateur Radio Club, call sign KF5AB.
Donna played violin in the Enid Phillips Symphony for over 20 years. Other organizations she was a member of include NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees), American Postal Workers Union, Democratic Women's Club, Cambridge Who's Who from 2009-2012.
Donna was baptized at Davis Park Christian Church on December 14, 1958, and was a charter member of Oakwood Christian Church.
Her greatest joy in life have been her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Robin (Holloway) Shepard; granddaughter, Shelby Hale; a brother, Bill Gerhard, and two sisters, Gloria (Gerhard) Jack, and Janice (Gerhard) Rork. She is survived by husband Steve Heffron; two children, Mark Holloway and wife Penny, of Lahoma; Julie Hale and husband Chip, of Tulsa, OK, and son-in-law Richard Shepard. Surviving her are six grandchildren; Derek Shepard and wife Amanda, Krystol Hale, Daniel Shepard and wife Sarah, Harley (Hale) Bradshaw and husband Alex, Dustin Shepard, and William Holloway. Twelve great-grandchildren include; Athena Hale, Wesley Bradshaw, Sutton Shepard, Nathaniel Shepard, Bryce Bradshaw, Leland Shepard, Logan Shepard, and Graham Shepard, and Peyton and McKenzie Stamper. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends also survive Donna.
Memorial contributions in Donna's name may be made to Enid Phillips Symphony or Hospice Circle of Love with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
