Dorothy Traynor

Dorothy Shelton Traynor was born in Enid on November 29, 1927, to Jim and Margaret (Hobbs) Shelton, and left this life on June 12, 2025, in Yukon, Oklahoma at the Heritage Assisted Living Center. Her wishes were to be cremated and laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery next to her husband Bill, her two brothers, their spouses and her sister. The family will have a private service at a later date. Cremation and services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Dorothy attended Enid Public Schools, graduating from Enid High School in 1945. She married Bill Traynor on December 11, 1943.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, sons Edward and Ted, and her brothers Elmer, Bill and James, sister Thelma, and their spouses.

She is survived by two sons and their spouses, Mike Traynor and wife Teresa, John Traynor and wife Cheryl. Teds wife Myra, and Eds wife Margaret, as well as nine grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Dorothy's name may be made to the Christian Church of the Covenant with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Assisted Living in Yukon where Dorothy has resided for the past eight years. They loved her and she loved them and the loving people of Cura-HPC Hospice that helped Dorothy reunite with family and friends that had moved on from this life.
