Duwayne Douglas Crawford, age 64, passed away at his home on October 30, 2026, from natural
causes. Duwayne was born on February 10, 1962, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Carlan and Sandra Crawford. He grew up in Enid, where he attended Enid High School, graduating in May 1980. Following high school, Duwayne attended Oklahoma State University before transferring to Phillips University, where he earned a degree in Business in May 1985. Duwayne dedicated approximately 40 years of his life to a career as an insurance adjuster, working for State Farm Insurance and later for Travelers Insurance.
To those who knew and loved him, Duwayne was truly a "gentle giant." His peaceful spirit, calm demeanor, and kind heart made him someone others naturally felt comfortable around. He was a man of quiet strength who loved his family deeply and treasured the time he spent with those closest to him.
Above all, Duwayne loved the Lord Jesus Christ. His Christian faith was an important part of who he was, and he reflected Christ's love through his gentleness, patience, kindness, and the way he treated others. His life was a beautiful example of how faith can be expressed not only through words, but through everyday acts of love.
Duwayne had a great appreciation for the outdoors and the simple pleasures of country life. He enjoyed beekeeping, raising cattle, working his land, spending time around horses, and lifting weights. Some of his greatest joys were attending barrel racing events, rodeos, and team roping competitions. These interests brought him happiness and reflected his love for the country lifestyle.
Duwayne's greatest treasures were his family and the relationships he held dear. He is survived by his beloved son, Clay Douglas Crawford, and daughter-in-law, Kacie Crawford; his cherished grandchildren, Hannah Crawford and Weston Crawford; his stepchildren, Kurtis Coats, Shelby Lamberth and Caleb Meadows; and his loving sister, Anita Crawford Henrichson, and her husband, Kevin Henrichson. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews and their families: Nichole Jackson and her son, Kaden Jackson; Nathan Brown; Charise Metzel and her husband, Adam Metzel, and their children, Maddox Metzel and Clara Metzel; Clayton Henrichson and his wife, Taylor Henrichson, and their son, Brooks Henrichson; Wyatt Henrichson and his wife, Morgan Henrichson; Brooke Henrichson; and Taylor Henrichson. Duwayne was also blessed with two extraordinary friendships that meant the world to him. He is survived by his two best friends, Mark Leathers and Joe Harrell, who were more than friends-they were brothers in every way that mattered.
"There is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother." - Proverbs 18:24 (KJV)
Duwayne also leaves behind many beloved cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Carlan and Sandra Crawford. Duwayne's legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever remember their gentle giant-a man of faith, kindness, quiet strength, and love.
"Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints" Psalm 116:15 (KJV)
