A Celebration of Life service for Edward "Eddie" W. Morris, age 68, of Enid will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Butch Rains officiating. Burial will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Breckinridge, under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Eddie was born October 27, 1957, in Enid to Melvin Dwayne and Geraldine Mohlenbrink Morris and passed away Thursday evening, January 8, 2026, at the Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City. Eddie attended and graduated from Garber High School in 1975. He briefly attended Oklahoma State University, where he pursued a major, he later joked was "partying"-a subject in which he claimed to be making an "A." Realizing it was not the right path, Eddie eventually followed a different calling.
In 1993, he attended Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology with a minor in music. He later received his master's degree in Family Life from Concordia University. Eddie devoted his life to ministry and service. He served his first call at St. James Lutheran Church in Michigan, followed by St. John's Lutheran Church in Fallon, Nevada, and later Our Savior Lutheran Church in Tulsa. Due to medical reasons, Eddie took disability leave in 2019 and later retired, having faithfully served congregations and communities for many years.
Eddie was known for his sense of humor, love of music, and deep care for people. He valued family, faith, and fellowship, and leaves behind many memories filled with laughter, kindness, and compassion.
He is survived by his siblings: Tracy and Kay Morris, Debbie and Bill Poteat, Mary and Byron Hobson, and Rick and Denise Morris; 12 nieces and nephews; 26 great-nieces and great-nephews; and 3 great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to Camp Lutherhoma with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory serving as custodians of the funds.
