Evelyn Arlene Kroeker was born July 22, 1929 in Enid, Oklahoma in the home of Henry and Tena Kroeker on North Grand and died June 28, 2026 at the age of 96 in Wylie, Texas.

Evelyn had four sisters and two brothers. Later the family moved to a country house northeast of the Mennonite Brethren Church. Evelyn said she walked to her country school every day. The family moved back to Enid and lived on East Broadway where she attended Garfield school and later Longfellow school.

As a teenager Evelyn would visit her grandparents in Henderson Nebraska. Her prayers were answered two years later in 1948, when she met Walter Clodfelter in Perry Oklahoma. They started dating and were married that same year on November 6,1948.

Evelyn worked many jobs in her life. After her parents were injured in a fire at their laundry business, mom had to go to work to help out her family. She started at Southwestern Bell as an operator in telephone office. She also worked Broadway Tower building in Enid as an elevator operator. After she married Walter, she became a farm wife and worked alongside her new husband on the farm South of Covington. Their marriage was blessed with three children; Vickie, Cindy, and Bruce. Walter died in 2005 and Evelyn moved from the farm to Enid. In 2021 she moved to Texas to be by her daughters and family.

Evelyn had many interests and hobbies that kept her busy throughout her life. She loved to sing and was a member of the church choir, the Garfield County Singers Group and the homemakers Extension Club. Evelyn was also a great seamstress and made beautiful clothes for herself and family. She also enjoyed painting, as a young girl she entered the Garfield County Fair contest with a picture of Red Poppy flowers and won 1st place. She was a member of a painting group out of Marshall called Pallets. The group would paint and have potluck to share weekly. Our family has many beautiful pictures she painted to cherish for years to come.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Walter, her son Bruce, her parents, four sisters and two brothers.

Evelyn is survived by her daughters Vickie Casey of Pilot Point, Texas and family Aaron (Kelly) Casey, Suzanne Casey; Cindy (Mark) Gragert of Wylie, Texas and family Derek (Joannie)Gragert; Damon (Julia) Gragert. Nine great grandchildren; Landry, Addison, Bailey, Brooks, Gracie, Tristan, Peyton, Tanner and Chloe.

She will be greatly missed as a loving mother and grandmother. Yet we rejoice in the hope of knowing that she is free from discomfort of this life and is now sharing eternity with her Lord and savior in Heaven.
