Services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Gary was born January 28, 1940, in Atchison, Kansas, to Lester and Mateel (Kautz) Hundley, and passed away Friday, April 3, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family.

He grew up in Atchison, Kansas, later joining the United States Navy in 1957 and transferring to the Army Reserves when his obligation with the Navy had been met after 12 years of service. He later married Cynthia Werth and together they had three sons, Richard, Tony, and Shawn Hundley. In 1986, he married the love of his life and best friend, Sandy Reichle. He gained a 'bonus' daughter, Ashley through adoption, and his son Jacob was born in 1987.

Due to work shut down in Atchison, the family moved to Enid where he continued his employment with Pillsbury/ADM, where he worked for 30 years before retiring. Gary also owned Jake's Place, where he met so many wonderful friends.

Following his retirement, Gary became bored, so he made the decision to re-enter the workforce. He went to work for United/Cash Savers grocery store and worked another 16 years, finally retiring in November 2025. Gary's favorite past time was talking to people and making them laugh. He also enjoyed going to the casino and visiting with the people. He also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports.

On March 20th, Gary found out he had an aggressive form of cancer. He decided to enter into the care of Hospice Circle of Love for comfort care. He was able to be at home where he was surrounded by the love and support of his family and friends. We are truly blessed to know how many lives Gary has touched.

Gary is survived by his wife Sandy Hundley, of the home in Enid, son Richard Hundley, son Tony Hundley and wife Tara, Shawn Hundley and wife Jolene, daughter Carla Thompson and husband Rick, daughter Ashley (Hundley) Smith and husband Jason, and Jacob Hundley and wife Alicia. Eleven grandchildren survive Brandon; Shelby, Bailey, Zackery, Jake, Zoe, Nevaeh, Desmond, Olivia, Emma, Hadlee, and Zaylee, and two great-grandchildren, Benji and Silas, and two more who are on the way this year, as well as many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents Lester and Mateel (Dolly) Hundely, sisters, Donna, Barbara and Joy, brother Bob Hundley, and stepfather, Charlie Strong.

In lieu of flowers, we respectfully honor Gary's enduring commitment to his family and his son's coaching career. In keeping with his generous spirit, any monetary gifts will be directed toward scholarship opportunities for the Okie Boyz players, a cause that was deeply meaningful to him. Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home will serve as custodian of the funds.
