A Celebration of Life Service for George Jones, of Enid, will be 2:00 pm, Friday, July 10, 2026, at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Jim Edmison officiating. The United States Army Honor Guard will provide military honors. Service and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
George Willard Jones, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend was born on November 15, 1945, in Perryton, Texas, to Willie and Mattie (Swindle) Jones, and passed away on July 3, 2026, at the age of 80. George lived a life defined by hard work, generosity, and love for his family. He proudly served in the United States Army from March 6, 1968, through March 5, 1970. After his military service, he worked as a general contractor, earning the respect of those who knew him through his craftsmanship, integrity, and strong work ethic.
George never met a stranger. He always had time to visit, share a story, or lend a helping hand. Whether spending time with family, talking with friends, or making one more stop at Harbor Freight, he found joy in life's simple moments.
George is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Minnie McDowra, Aliva Jones, Lloyd Jones, and Floyd Jones; and son Brian Jones. He is survived by his wife Susan; children Jody (Renae), Tim, Alishia (Hobie), Wesley (Stephanie), Miranda (Antwon), and Dusten (Wynona). His greatest joy was being "Papa" to his 24 grandchildren and more than 30 great-grandchildren.
George's legacy of kindness, humility, generosity, and unwavering love for his family will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. "A life well lived is measured not by the years, but by the love shared, the lives touched, and the memories left behind."
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can made toward funeral expenses, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
