Gregory Dolan McFarland

A Celebration of Life Service for Gregory McFarland, age 79, of Enid, is 2:00pm, Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel, with Josh Conaway officiating. Service and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Gregory "Greg" D. McFarland, 79, of Enid, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on August 23, 2026. Greg was born October 12, 1946, in Enid, Oklahoma, to George (Bill) and Gloria McFarland. He attended Stillwater Public Schools.

Greg married Vivian Jardot in 1963, and together they had three sons: Gregory "Mark", Keith, and Travis McFarland. In 1999, Greg married Jody (Miller) Mitchell and welcomed a wonderful stepdaughter, Ashley, into his family.

Greg spent more than 40 years as a plumber and took tremendous pride in owning and operating McFarland Plumbing and Repair for 35 years. When he retired in 2009, he left behind a legacy of hard work and a reputation as someone who always knew how to get the job done right.

A lifelong enthusiast of anything with wheels and an engine, Greg loved dirt track racing, drag racing, and motocross. He spent many hours at Enid Speedway, where his knowledge and talent led multiple racing teams to ask him to build and tune the motors for their cars. Racing was more than a hobby for Greg it was a passion that brought him great enjoyment and many friendships.

Greg also had a deep love for the outdoors. He hunted, fished, and noodled throughout his life and was proud to pass the love of the outdoors on to his sons and grandson. After retirement, one of Greg's greatest joys was being a grandpa. He loved attending his grandchildren's school activities and sporting events and being there to cheer them on.

Greg also enjoyed trips to the casino and was always eager to share stories about his latest wins and the delicious food they enjoyed along the way.

In the months before his passing, Greg found a special sense of community and friendship at the Enid Senior Center (RSVP). He enjoyed spending his weekdays there, having lunch, playing Bingo and pool, and visiting with the people he had come to know. His larger-than-life personality and gift for storytelling made Greg impossible to forget. He loved people, loved to talk, and always had a story ready, whether you had heard it before or not. If you had, that was no problem, Greg was happy to tell it again.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, George (Bill) and Gloria McFarland; his wife, Jody McFarland; and his brother, Terry McFarland. He is survived by his sons, Gregory "Mark" McFarland, Keith McFarland and his wife, Jana, and Travis McFarland; stepdaughter Ashley Hellman and her husband, Michael; nine grandchildren, Dalton McFarland and his wife, Carli, Heather Mayfield and her husband, Brennen, Austin McFarland, Reed, Mikenley, Jayla, Nakoa, Sadie, and Joseph Hellman; and three great-grandchildren, Avery McFarland, Wells McFarland, and Brentley Momsen-McFarland. Greg was also blessed with neighbors who cared for him, looked out for him, and became an important part of his life.

Greg will be remembered for his big personality, his stories, his love of racing and the outdoors, his strong work ethic, and most of all, his love for his family. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a legacy carried on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Greg will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
