A Celebration of Life service for James W. Lingenfelter, age 97, will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel, with Rev. Bruce Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
James was born June 2, 1928 in Enid to Orley and Tempest Anderson Lingenfelter and passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026, in Enid. He grew up in Enid and graduated from Enid High School in 1946. He met his high school sweetheart, Narcelyn E. Parriott, and married her June 6, 1948, at Davis Park Christian Church. They had 2 children, Dewayne and Twyla. They were married for 73 years. They had a sweet, loving inseparable bond.
James worked for Roy Puckett Service Station for 2 1⁄2 years and was a mechanic for Parriott's Garage for 47 years, where he was a partner and part owner with Don Haymaker.
He was a Sunday School teacher, Deacon, and choir member at Davis Park Christian Church. Later, he was a member of Willow Road Christian Church, where he enjoyed teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir.
James enjoyed many vacations to the mountains and Branson. He also loved working on his farm, spending time in his shop, and many gatherings surrounded by his loving family.
James is survived by his daughter, Twyla Fletcher and daughter-in-law Nadine Lingenfelter; five grandchildren, Ashley (Jason) Currier, Micah Fletcher, Kristen (Nathan) Cue, Summer Fletcher, and Brandon Lingenfelter; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild on the way; and other family members. James was preceded in death by his parents, wife Narcelyn Lingenfelter, son Dewayne Lingenfelter, grandson Mark Fletcher, and sister Lorna Haymaker.
