The service for Joyce Marilyn Luskey, of Enid, will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, April 17, 2026, at Ladusau-Evans Chapel, with Ed Luskey officiating, with burial following in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Enid, Oklahoma. Cremation and memorial service are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Joyce entered the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Baptist Village in Enid, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years.
Born December 2, 1934, in Waterville, Minnesota, to Fred and Grace (Cole) Kaupa. Later the family moved to Le Sueur, Minnesota, where Joyce graduated high school in 1952. She was employed at Northwestern Bell Telephone for three years.
She married her high school sweetheart Edward Luskey, on October 8, 1955, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Le Sueur, Minnesota. This began a 22-year journey as an Air Force wife. In 1965, they were transferred to Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Oklahoma. After Ed's retirement, they made Enid a permanent location, not wishing to endure those Minnesota winters ever again!
Joyce was a loving stay at home mom to 4 boys, Patrick, Michael, Daniel, and Edward. She and Ed attended church at Vance Air Force Chapel, and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Joyce was always active in church, school, and scouts, where she was a cub scout den mother. Most importantly she was the family prayer warrior, for which we are forever grateful! If you knew her well, she was usually the first call family and friends made for prayer support.
Both Ed and Joyce, in retirement, often mentored young military couples stationed at Vance. She loved animals, especially cats, and was known to always have at least one or two (but she would say she's not "a cat lady" lol). Joyce enjoyed music, and they both enjoyed ballroom dancing.
She is preceded in death by husband Ed, sons Patrick and Daniel, as well as her parents, brother Fred and sister Janice. Joyce is survived by sons Michael (Brenda), Ed (Brenda) and 5 grandchildren Sean, Andrew, Sydney, Cailey and Riley and 2 great grandchildren Liam and Olivia.
We thank the assisted living crew at Baptist Village for their wonderful care, and Elara Caring Hospice as well.
Thank you for the years of so many prayers for all of us Mom, we'll see you soon!
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Joyce's name may be made out to Elara Caring Hospice or the Enid SPCA with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
