Lawrence Felber

A Celebration of Life service for Lawrence T. "Fred" Felber, age 77, of Bison, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025, at First Nazarene Church, with Rev. Bruce Johnson officiating. Fred will be laid to rest at Bison Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 - 6:00 pm at the funeral home.

Fred, as he was affectionately known by all who loved him, was born on July 18, 1948, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Garrett and Nellie (Wehling) Felber. He passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025, surrounded by the family he cherished.

A man of quiet strength and great heart, Fred was a true craftsman-both by trade and by nature. Whether he was swinging a hammer or lending a listening ear, he built not just homes but lives, with generosity and humility. He found deep joy in helping others, especially those in need, and was always the first to show up with his tools, a warm smile, and willing hands.

Fred's early years were spent in Bison, where he attended Catholic school through the 8th grade before graduating from Waukomis Public Schools in 1967. He furthered his education in carpentry at Okmulgee Tech, which led to a lifelong passion for woodworking. He began his career building homes and, in 1970, began working at Vance Air Force Base, where he faithfully served as a Construction Inspector for 48 years until his retirement in 2018.

Above all, Fred was a devoted father, grandfather, and brother. He is survived by his beloved daughter Aimie Learned and her husband Lewain of Billings, OK, and their children, Sadie and Colt; Katherine McDonald of Archer City, TX, and her sons, Ransom and Canyon; and Kim and Nathan Pearson of Waukomis, OK, and their children, Paxtyn and Press. He is also survived by his brother Gerald and wife Betty Felber, and his sister Linda and husband Larry Hodges.

Fred's grandchildren were the light of his life, and nothing brought him more happiness than being in the stands-whether at a ballgame, recital, or school event-cheering them on with a grin that could light up the whole room.

Fred's love of woodworking reflected his personality: steady, patient, and creative. But even more than his craft, it was his deep love for people that left a lasting mark. His easy laugh, kind heart, and helping hands will be missed by everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Garrett and Nellie; his brothers Melvin, Hugh, Richard, Mitchell, and Kenneth; and his sister, Rita Manion.

Fred's legacy of kindness, hard work, and unwavering love for family will live on in the lives he touched.
