Loretta Carol (Borwell) Hook was born on September 24, 1949, in Philadelphia, PA, to Laverne Bordwell and Dorothy (Bell) Stephens. She passed away on April 1, 2026, at her home in Garber, OK. Loretta was a dedicated and compassionate RN who devoted her life to caring for others. She served faithfully in the hospital setting before continuing her work as a dialysis nurse.
Loretta married Denzil "Hoss" Hook, Sr, on April 28, 1995, in Pampa, TX. They made their home in Borger, Pampa, and Amarillo until Hoss' passing in 2023. She recently moved to Garber to be closer to her daughter and her family.
Loretta is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Justin Savage of Garber, OK; grandchildren, Dakota and Emma Savage of Yukon, OK, Cooper Savage and Summerlyn Goodpasture of Enid, OK, and Raylee Savage and Ryan Jarrett of Enid, OK; great-grandsons, Brody Savage and Easton Savage; stepson Denzil Hook, Jr, and his wife Teresa of Amarillo, TX; stepdaughters Mary Mayes and her husband Gary of Amarillo, TX, and Sarah Ewing of Happy, TX; brothers, John Earles and wife Ann of Waikoloa, HI, and Kevin Earles of Fritch, TX; sister, Vicki Cato and husband Robert of Amarillo, TX; numerous beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and her treasure cats.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Michele Schaffer, her parents, her stepdaughter, Sheila McCoy, her sister, Kathleen Crawford, her nephew, Nathan Williams, and her brother, Ralph Earles.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to CompleteOK Hospice and Cornerstone Caregiving for their compassionate care.
Per Loretta's wishes, there are no services planned at this time, cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
