We find comfort knowing they entered the gates of Heaven together, as they, Monty & Patty Lorenz tragically passed away Saturday, July 26th, 2025, just one day before their 46th wedding anniversary.
Monty was born October 3, 1959, in Jacksonville, Florida to Alfie “Sonny” and Wanda Jenkins Lorenz. Evelyn “Patty” was born March 30, 1960, in Lawton, OK to Ray and Helga (Bolldorf) Crow. Monty grew up in Hunter & Patty lived several years in Germany, then spent time in Louisiana before settling in Pond Creek. They both attended & graduated from Pond Creek-Hunter High School, Monty in 1977 & Patty in 1978. They were the definition of high school sweethearts and quickly married in the summer of 1979. Monty was called to farming, spending countless days and nights working the fields he loved. Monty never backed down from hard work, picking up any other jobs he could while continuing to farm. He later went to work for Rick Lorenz Construction, eventually co-owning the company with his brother and running it successfully until retiring in 2024. Patty worked at the Garfield County Courthouse before leaving to work at Pond Creek-Hunter schools. She was willing to work hard anywhere under one condition; her children and their activities came first. Patty spent many years at Northcutt Chevrolet before joining Monty in business at Rick Lorenz Construction where she was honestly, everything but the concrete. Monty and Patty were always together. When retiring in 2024, they took OU on RV adventures spending more time on the road than home. They could often be found at one of three places, golfing, fishing or most importantly, showing up for their grandchildren. Every aspect of their life was enjoyed with friends and family they loved, leaving a legacy of generosity and joy. Monty and Patty will be missed every second of every day by their children Tyson and his wife Amber Lorenz, and Bridgette and her husband Brent Nehring. Monty and Patty were obsessed with their grandchildren, Sofie Lorenz and Brylee and Brock Nehring.
