Patsy Faye Thibodeau (Strecker), 77, passed away peacefully at home on May 14, 2026. She was born on September 11, 1948, to Melvin and Roberta Strecker.
A celebration of Patsy's life will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 10:00 am at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home in Enid, with Pastor Alan Seibel officiating, with a graveside service in Garber immediately following. The family will receive friends from 6-7pm on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the funeral home.
Patsy attended Garber Public Schools and graduated as valedictorian in 1966. She then attended Enid General Hospital School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse in 1969. Patsy served as a nurse for 41 years and was awarded the Frist Humanitarian Award in 1992 for compassionate patient care and commitment to community service. She retired from St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in 2010.
On February 28, 1970, Patsy married David Thibodeau, USAF. They celebrated their 12th anniversary before David's passing in 1982.
Faith and service were central to Patsy's life. She was an active member of Davis Park Christian Church and later Oakwood Christian Church, where she served as a nursery attendant, Sunday school teacher, youth sponsor, choir member, Costa Rica mission team participant, and member of His Quilters.
Patsy was actively involved in the community through the True Honest Workers with the OSU Extension Office and was a member of the Garfield County Quilt Guild. She enjoyed quilting sewing and cooking, earning numerous ribbons at the county fair over the years.
She was a proud and devoted supporter of her children's activities with the Enid High School Big Blue Band and color guard, sewing countless flags, costumes, and hemming band uniforms through the years.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Roberta Strecker; her husband, David Thibodeau; her sister, Linda DeShazo; and her nephew, William "Billy" DeShazo.Patsy is survived by her children, Jana McFarland and husband Keith of Enid; Jason Thibodeau and wife Julie of Stillwater; and Jamie Thibodeau and wife Hayley of Orlando, Florida.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Maegan (Chris), Emily and husband Dakota, David (Kenzie), Seth, Joshua, Karis, and Ty; one great-grandson, Henry; and her siblings: George Strecker and wife Paula, Joyce Whitehead, Phillip Strecker, Susan Royster and husband Stephen, and cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Oakwood Christian Church, memo (His Quilters) or to Garfield County 4-H.
